DIPLOMA of Community Services
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously within their scope of practice under broad directions from senior management.
DURATION
104 Weeks
Delivery methods include face-to-face classroom-based training and webinars. Students are also expected to conduct self-paced learning activities. Assessment methods include written work, projects, case studies, observations, and logbook/third-party reports.

PATHWAY
After achieving this qualification, students may continue their studies in CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management and CHC82015 Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management
LLN
Sufficient LLN (Language, Literacy, and Numeracy) skills and are at least 18 years old. Applicants may be requested to take an LLN test.
Students will need access to a computer and the internet. For detailed requirements please contact the college.
WORK PLACEMENT
There is a component of 200 hours of compulsory work placement where students will be assessed by the college’s assessors.
Students are encouraged to look for their own work placement before applying for enrolment at the college. If students find their own work placement, the workplace where the students will conduct their work placement will need to be approved by the college. A suitable workplace provided by students for this course is a regulated/registered childcare service.
For students in South Australia, if the students cannot find their own work placement, the college will support them in finding work placement. The college will inform the students if the college can organize work placement for them before they are enrolled and will only approve their enrolments if work placement places are available for them.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Applicants must provide a National Police check and vaccination records as per relevant workplaces’ requirements before commencing work placement.
Applicants must be physically capable of doing general lifting and be prepared to be on their feet for long stretches of time
.
